Current Research

I am a postdoctoral researcher in metamorphic petrology and structural geology at the ‘Institut des Sciences de la Terre de Paris’ (ISTeP, Sorbonne Université), working in the OROGEN project*.

I investigate the relationship between the metamorphic, geochronological and microstructural record in low to medium-grade metamorphic rocks exposed in collisional orogens to constrain the major stages of an orogen formation.

* the project is co-founded by the CNRS, BRGM and TOTAL and aims to better understand the major steps of the construction and evolution of mountain belts.

Research interests

  • Orogenic contexts with outcropping basement
  • P-T characterization of low to medium-grade metamorphism
  • Significance of geochronological record of accessory minerals (allanite, rutile, titanite, monazite) in rocks at low grade metamorphic conditions
  • Control of major structures on the fluid-driven petro-chronological re-equilibration
  • Petrological signature of changes in the deformation style during the evolution of an orogeny (e.g. onset of the basement-involving deformation, localization of the deformation etc.)
  • Role of metamorphic reactions in crustal softening
  • Link between crustal structures imaged by geophysics, active fault systems and metamorphic segmentations of orogens.

2017 * I hold a conferences with the Chine-Roanne (member of Chine-France association), Roanne (France) on the short-term and long-term seismic behaviour of the Longmen Shan fault system

 2015-2016 * I hold two conferences at the Inter-Age University of Dauphiné (IUAD), Grenoble (France) on the geological evolution and deformation history of the Tibetan plateau

 2015* I participated to the project "100 parrains, 100 classes", a partnership between two high school classes and a PhD student. My goal was to introduce to the students the variety of spatial scales used in Geology to retrieve the geodynamical history of a region: "Mountains in a microscope"

 2015* I organized together with the "Point Relais Info Chichilianne", the Chichilianne municipality and the Vercors Regional Park a geological week end in Chichilianne (Western Alps), including an all-public conference on the geological evolution of the Italian-French Alps and a guided filed trip around the famous M.Aiguille

 2014* I actively participate to the "Les Tribulation Savantes", an all-public scientific event concerninc Earth Sciences which takes place in the University of Grenoble Alpes (Grenoble, France).
